Chamber Music New Zealand
This year you are invited to embark on an experiential journey of discovery: Music Up Close, thanks to Chamber Music New Zealand’s 2017 Kaleidoscopes Series. The season is the perfect combination of diversity, excellence – and intimacy. Featuring extraordinary artists and ensembles of the highest international quality, genres span early music to jazz, and concerts range in size from solo performances to groups of almost 20 musicians.
The 2017 Kaleidoscopes Season is off to a great start with the NZ debut of L’Arpeggiata. Drawing inspiration from Purcell’s ground basses, this early music ensemble will fuse the improvisatory arts of the baroque with those of jazz. A s with jazz, an ostinato bass gives musicians the opportunity to improvise freely, and L’Arpeggiata require no second invitation.
