Remembering February 22

Mark the three year anniversary of the February 22 earthquakes and pay your respects by attending one, or more, of the following services and events this Saturday:

Held on the Archery Lawn at the Christchurch Botanic Gardens from noon, the Civic Memorial Service includes an address by Christchurch mayor Lianne Dalziel and one minute’s silence at 12.51pm.

River of Flowers
Drop a flower into the Avon, Heathcote and Liffey rivers and the estuary at one of 16 sites and write a message on a tree of hope.

Mitre 10 Mega A Run to Remember
Run, remember and raise funds for the Canterbury Earthquake Children’s Trust on the 12km Mitre 10 Mega A Run to Remember from Victoria Park to Hansen Park.
Where: Victoria Park, 9am start
Cost: $15 for adults, $10 for children under 16.

Memorial Service at the Transitional Cathedral
Join the very reverend Lynda Patterson, dean of ChristChurch Cathedral from 5.30 – 6pm in a service for those who lost somebody in the 2011 earthquake, and pay your respects by offering a prayer and placing a twig on the Kahikatea Earthquake Memorial Sculpture which will be on display for the first time.
