Tea For Tantalising

Taking high society charms to new heights, Crowne Plaza Christchurch has launched one of the city’s most glamorous and pearl-clutchingly decadent high teas. Head chef Mirco Turtschi isn’t joking when he says the multi-sensory experience that pairs premium tea (or chilled bubbles should the occasion require) with three, silver-caged tiers of exquisite goodies — think dainty sandwiches, delicate golden pastries and exquisite confections – “gives the Mad Hatter and Alice a run for their money”.

Enjoying the highfalutin’ tea in the polished refinery of the Social Wine Bar is the ultimate summer afternoon experience. You’ll discover a delightful contemporary twist on the standard high tea menu including macaroons, chicken liver pâté with beetroot relish, and petite vanilla crème brulées amongst other high tea all-time classics. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are also available on request. Accompanying the triple-tiered treats is a range of T2 teas, Mojo coffee and Te Hana Reserve bubbles. What’s more, famed pianist of the Crowne Plaza past Peter Lewis will be tinkling the ivories on selected dates, ensuring the most resplendent of respites.
