CSO: Ode To Joy

Chief Conductor Benjamin Northey leads the CSO through perhaps the most famous piece for orchestra of all time, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 – a call for universal freedom and a proclamations that all men are brothers daringly written in a time of political repression and ultra conservative nationalism.

The orchestra are joined by Amanda Atlas, Sally-Anne Russell, Oliver Sewell, James Clayton and the combined choirs of the Christchurch City Choir, Jubilate Singers, Burnside High School Senior Chorale and Consortia to perform this great masterpiece.
