Wanderlust 108, the “Mindful Triathlon”, headed to Christchurch
Wanderlust, producers of iconic yoga lifestyle events around the world, have announced a Christchurch date for Wanderlust 108, the world’s first and only “mindful triathlon”. Held at St Leonards Park in Sumner on December the 2nd, Wanderlust 108 will combine three mindful activities – running, yoga, and meditation – and aims to foster both individual wellness and positive social change by building a large community around mindfulness.
Mindfulness practice has been proven to reduce anxiety, depression and bias, promote a positive body image and improve cognition, but meditation and yoga are seen by many as intimidating or too difficult. With this is mind, Wanderlust 108 is designed to be accessible, affordable, inclusive, and fun.
The fun doesn’t end with the triathlon itself either, with participants able to participate in additional activities afterwards including aerial yoga, acroyoga, hooping, walking meditation or community yoga classes, and the Mindful Marketplace will showcase local craft vendors offering ethically-sourced clothing, jewellery and handcrafted items. Local and organic food vendors will also be on site.
