SCAPE Public Art has a massive spring and summer planned, with five big events concluding with the annual SCAPE Public Art Season kicking off in December.

Here's the schedule for art lovers looking for some fresh works or interactive fun.

Art, Learning & Wellbeing

This education programme takes place at Tūranga. Schools and community groups can select from a range of offerings including the school holiday programme, working alongside SCAPE artist Olivia Webb. Activities include creating artworks, art activities and guided tours of the artworks.

Re:ACTIVATE

Artworks from young, talented aspiring artists will be installed in Hagley Park in late October then available to view throughout the SCAPE Public Art Season 2021 (see below). Artworks are by 8-year-old junior design winner Te Ao Rangimarie Davis, and 16-year-old senior design winners Sienna Oshannessey and Agatha Weston.

TENT

The team behind the Auckland Art Fair and SCAPE are bringing TENT, a pop-up art exhibition, to Christchurch. The event will be part of a network of similar TENT exhibitions around Aotearoa and online.

Thursday 4 – Sunday 7 November

Art and Sculpture in Residence

This exhibition at Studio 125 Gallery in Merivale will display a selection of works by local artists.

SCAPE Public Art Season 2021

The main public art event of the year! This year, SCAPE will be exhibiting eight new artworks and creating new public art walkways for the public to explore the new works and some of Ōtautahi's amazing permanent public art works. Newly commissioned artworks are from Aroha Novak, Janet Lilo, Kate Newby, Louise Palmer, Sione Monū, and Olivia Webb as well as international artists Nabuqi and Bona Park.
